Update from Metal Relic

July 17, 2025

I’m Jeremy Werkheiser, the welding artist behind Metal Relic. I share daily videos showing how to build everything from roses to monsters out of steel. But art like this doesn’t happen in a vacuum. I just launched a Supporting the Arts page to spotlight brands and people who back what I do. Want to support the arts? You’ll get backlinks, shoutouts, and maybe even booth space. I have a lot of supports to still add and there is plenty of room for you! Check it out: 👉 www.metalrelic.com/supporting-the-arts Let’s build something awesome together.

My sculpture made the cover! If you’re anywhere along the North Branch, grab the new NBAT Arts Paper. The Deep Sleep sculpture is front and center. Over 2,500 scales, a wrecked pirate ship, and a comeback story forged in fire. The issue’s packed with maps, galleries, farms, and more reasons to explore the 300-mile trail. Pick one up if you spot it. https://northbrancharttrail.com/nbat/ https://www.MetalRelic.com

I’m heading to Atlanta this June to compete in the SkillsUSA National Championships for Welding Sculpture. As an adult student at SCCTC, I went back to school to sharpen my skills and push my art further. After winning Gold at the state level with my pirate ship vs. Kraken sculpture, I’ll now represent Pennsylvania at Nationals. Proud to step out from behind the name Metal Relic and show what’s possible when you give it everything you’ve got.

Metal Relic builds wild metal art from the bones of forgotten machines. Welding artist Jeremy Werkheiser turns scrap into sculptures with soul. Roses that never wilt. Beasts that bite back. Creatures you didn’t know you needed. Industrial grit meets imagination with a welding torch in one hand and zero chill in the other. No rules. No limits. Just metal reborn. Want something that’ll outlive you and your houseplants? Visit MetalRelic.com and get weird with it. Book your custom project now! Summer slots are filling up fast!

Forged in flame and bent by hand, the new rose is almost here. Built from raw steel and shaped with force, it won’t fade, break, or back down. No vase. No water. No wilt. Just metal and the promise of something real. Stay tuned!

One of the coolest projects yet, a 48 inch custom Indy car sculpture. Built from scratch and full of detail, this one left the customer speechless. I have been working on some amazing commissions lately and love seeing how each piece connects with its new home. From roses to race cars, no two builds are ever the same. Big thanks to everyone supporting Metal Relic. Got an idea? Let us bring it to life. #MetalRelic #CustomMetalArt #WeldingArtist

The Kraken (pictured) won 1st Place in the SkillsUSA Welding Sculpture Postsecondary division, and I’m heading to Nationals! This shows the level of craftsmanship you can expect. I am currently enrolled in the Welding /Welding Technology class at the local Vo-Tech until I graduate in June. I am now booking custom builds for Spring/Summer 2025 to help cover educational and living expenses.
